Introduction

The aim of this document is to guide engineers and technicians towards the decision of which value of tightening torque choose in different standard situations, where not already specifically indicated.

Standard Tightening Torque

Apart of installation of electronic or mechanical commercial components, where the torque value is given by the manufacturer’s datasheet, all the others mechanical screws and bolts need a proper torque value to be correctly fixed considering the different circumstances.

A simplified table of common sizes and materials is available here in order to choose the right torque value.
