Introduction
This page deals with design of mechanical pieces, regarding applicable standards or requirements.
General requirements
General standards to be applied when designing a standard use mechanical part
In each mechanical drawing, the following general standards have to be indicated in order to guarantee the drawing tolerances for a general component
- ISO-2768-mK - General tolerances (mk = medium level)
- ISO-1302 - Geometrical Product Specifications (GPS)
- ISO-13715 - Technical product documentation - Edges of undefined shape
Roughness requirements for electrical and thermal contact surfaces
The roughness have to be indicated in each mechanical drawing, pointing the surface to be treated. A standard value for a good electrical and thermal contact is < 3.2 µm
Edges of undefined shape for general parts
The edges of undefined shape values have to be indicated in each mechanical drawing.
Standard values for general pourpose mechanical parts according to the ISO-13715 are:
Outer edges: –0.3 mm / –0.5 mm
Inner edges: +0.5 mm / +0.3 mm
