LHC is a very specific environment, where mechanical pieces are often part of the converter, since for example a lot of conductors are made of copper thick busbars, requiring mechanical machining process.

All materials used at CERN must fit this Safety instruction IS41 .edms, with respect to Fire and Radiation resistance.
