Introduction

This page gives some details and tips on specific mechanical parts, commonly used in converter mechanical design.

Spacers used for supporting printed circuit board shall be in Brass Nickel finish material to ensure:
- A low impedance electrical connection between chassis frame or heatsink where they are fixing on, and the PCB 0V (being potentially connected to PCB ground plane) being connected to the spacer through PCB gold or silver plated pad.
- A safe galvanic couple between spacer (nickel) and frame / chassis (Surtec treatment), spacer (nickel) and PCB pad (gold or silver), spacer (nickel) and fixation plate & screws (stainless steel).

Screws and plates used for fixing PCB on their spacer shall be made of Stainless Steel or Steel Nickel plated. SEMS screws secured by a lock and a flat washer Nickel plated are most advisable solution. See here for more information. EDMS N° 1767671.
