Demo | Electrical demo board, to validate the topology and control strategy defined, EMC signatures. PCB can be internally routed if very simple, and if judged more efficient. | Power and regulation. Control (logic) or being controlled by a FGC controller is not required at this level. | 01 | |
Prototype | Power Converter Prototype created to validate the functional technical specification, regarding electrical performances, control. The converter must be controllable by a FGC controller. | Converter cards and power elements must be located inside a mechanical frame, representing the final converter. Rad / Elec Pre-Serie | Power Converters created to validate the work (quality, process, test) of the external companies before proceeding with the full series. Pre-series = Series most of the time, or with very few differences, considered as negligeable. The pre-series are tested at CERN using generic templates which will be applied to series.
