Overview

This pages gives a summary / list of some specific points to be evaluated, on a commercial power unit, to ensure its compatibility with standard powering solutions used in the group. It reviews: the mechanical design, the ability to use the converter in a rack, for example, and to carry it.
An EDMS doc: MANUFACTURER REFERENCE CERN Mechanical Evaluation is created, with a report file.

Points of interest / compatibility

Physical dimensions
- Weight, dimensions.
- Material being used for the case.
- How to handle it, place it in a rack.
- How to install it: distance versus its faces (space needed for access any side?).

Cooling
- Evaluation of the cooling system proposed (fan location in and out), water flow requirements if the case.
