This device, designed internally will allow the test of AC-DC units including several on-line checks, like output voltage deviation for long period of burn-in test. Goal is to be able to trim dedicated loads at a given current and to be able to easily proceed with type test and with reception tests.
Tester can be illustrated by:

Active-Load-Tester simplified Architecture / Topology .vsd
Key points of the tester are:
| Test | Comments | ||
|---|---|---|---|
| Goal of the test phase. | Test Conditions, limits of interest. | ||
| Type Test | Check the stability working area of the unit being evaluated, check the overall unit performances (efficiency vs load). | Dynamic & static load use. Dynamic Load response, change of load dynamic regulation (fast/slow). | |
| Reception Test | Validate a full batch of same reference units, minimizing the effort on manpower, to ensure a minimum reliability on the device. | Load setting is static, and active function are enabled to check the output voltage signal. DC and AC measurements are compared to trimmable references. | |
